Ms. Nkumeh is the Vice President and Chief Legal Affairs Officer at Kennesaw state University. Ms. Nkumeh's main duties consist of providing legal support and counsel on employment matters (Human Resources), intellectual property, and records management.
Prior to joining KSU, Ms. Nkumeh served as senior attorney for the Fulton County Attorney’s Office, where she managed three staff attorneys to defend Fulton County in public employment litigation in state and federal courts, as well as against charges of discrimination filed with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”). As senior attorney, Ms. Nkumeh also advised various Fulton County departments on various day-to-day operational and administrative matters, including training and providing advice in personnel matters, reviewing and negotiating contracts, and drafting and interpreting ordinances, regulations and resolutions. Ms. Nkumeh began her legal career as a litigation associate with Troutman Sanders LLP in Atlanta, Georgia, where she focused on commercial litigation.
Ms. Nkumeh earned her B.A. in Public Affairs from Princeton University and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. She is a member of the Georgia Bar and is admitted to practice in all state trial and appellate courts, as well as in the Northern District of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
